In Light of Scripture seeks to supplement the church in helping Christians live out the Great Commission by providing resources (articles, book reviews and kids’ movie talking points) to help people understand Scripture as well as aspects of culture in light of Scripture.

Mike McGregor is the main contributor to In Light of Scripture and is Director of College Ministry at First Baptist Church in Durham, N.C. where he lives with his wife and three kids.

A Baltimore native, Mike graduated from Towson University where he studied Mass Communication – Journalism. After college he served on staff with Young Life for eight years in Maryland. Following a pastoral internship at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington D.C., Mike served on staff at Cheverly Baptist Church as a Pastoral Assistant. In the Spring of 2020 Mike earned an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary – D.C., and in the Summer of 2020 became the Director of College Ministry at First Baptist in Durham.

Mike is very happily married to Kelly and they have four kids. When he isn’t working or blogging he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, reading, golfing, listening to music, playing music, watching movies or sports and running.
